EU from A to Z
A dictionary of the Czech Presidency of the European Council
Eurospeak
Eurospeak is the specific language used by European officials or journalists writing about the EU. The European Union is often criticised for creating its own language, which is understood only by its civil servants and seems removed from the citizens. However, most of the phrases and special terminology arose from the need to name certain new realia. In order to orientate yourself in terms of this so-called Eurospeak, please visit the web pages run by the European Commission which list specific terms related to the EU, along with explanations of their meaning.
European Glossary
The European Union Glossary is a dictionary containing words related to European integration and institutions and EU activities. You will find concise explanations of the development of individual phrases and a large number of useful reference links to the related Treaties.
