EU Presidency Statement on ongoing attacks in Gaza
The Presidency condemns today’s strike on a building of UNRWA in Gaza City by Israeli artillery.
The Presidency demands that Israel undertake measures to prevent any recurrence of this attack on civilian or humanitarian targets, which is simply unacceptable.
We call upon both parties to the conflict to cease fire with immediate effect, and to put an end to the suffering of the civilian population. We further reiterate our call on both parties to respect the principles of international humanitarian law and to comply with their obligations thereunder.
