EU Presidency Statement on the inauguration of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon

The Presidency of the Council of the European Union welcomes the inauguration of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon to prosecute suspects in the killing of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri.

The Presidency reiterates the European Union’s full support to the work of the Tribunal and expresses its hope that it will successfully bring to justice those guilty of this criminal act.
