EU - Turkey meeting at ministerial level

On 21 April 2009 Prague will host the EU-Turkey meeting at ministerial level.

The meeting will be attended by President of the EU General Affairs and External Relations Council Karel Schwarzenberg and Member of the European Commission Responsible for Enlargement Olli Rehn. The Turkish delegation will be headed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Babacan. Turkish State Minister for European Affairs and Chief Negotiator with the EU Egemen Bağiş will also take part in the meeting. Carl Bildt, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden, the next country to hold the Presidency, also agreed to participate.

The meeting will address issues of the EU-Turkey relations and the progress in Turkey’s accession talks with the EU, issues of energy security and other current regional and international issues – the Middle East peace process, South Caucasus, Pakistan and India.
