“The Small Business Act for Europe: business without barriers”

On 13–14 May 2009 an international conference focusing on local and regional solutions to the key challenges facing small and medium enterprises (SMEs) will take place at the Clarion Congress Hotel Prague.

Participants in the two-day conference will discuss how the Small Business Act will play a crucial role in:

  • removing barriers to business,
  • reducing the administrative burden for small businesses, and
  • ensuring that legislators “think small first” to design regulation better around SMEs’ requirements.

Workshops organised on both days will present participants with local and regional case studies and examples of best practice, focusing on removing barriers to markets and removing barriers to entrepreneurship.

The press conference will take place on Thursday 14 May 2009 from 10:45 at the Clarion Congress Hotel Prague (Quadrant Conference Hall) in the presence of Minister of Industry and Trade Vladimír Tošovský and Vice-President of the European Commission Günter Verheugen.
