European representatives will negotiate in Mavrovo Natinal Park on implementation of environmental legislation
The Ministry of the Environment and Physical Planning of the Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia will hold an international conference entitled Partnership and Dialogue - Preconditions for Good Governance for Implementation of the EU Environmental Acquis from 27 to 29 May under the auspices of the Czech Presidency of the EU Council.
The conference will take place in Mavrovo National Park in the Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia. The delegation of the Czech Presidency will be led by the First Deputy Minister of the Environment, Jan Dusík.
Regional cooperation is an important part of the process of integration of EU candidate and potential candidate countries. Therefore, the objective of the conference is to strengthen the current regional cooperation in the area of the environment and to share the experiences of governmental agencies, non-profit organisations and businesses in the area of implementation of the environmental acquis in the European Union and the Western Balkans region.
Invitees to the conference will include the Ministers of the Environment of the candidate and potential candidate countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, the Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia, Serbia and Turkey) and the neighbouring EU Member States (Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Italy), Sweden as the next Presidency country and representatives of the European Commission.
“The countries of the Western Balkans have also made great progress over the recent year in the area of the environment. The Czech Presidency supports their efforts to joint the European Union,” said Jan Dusík, First Deputy Minister of the Environment and head of the delegation of the Czech Presidency of the EU Council.
