Green light to jobs! JOBDAYS 2009 starts today!

The largest job fair in the Czech Republic, JOBDAYS 2009, will take place on 8 – 10 April 2009 at the INCHEBA EXPO exhibition grounds in Prague – Holešovice.

JOBDAYS 2009 is organised by Jobsinprague.cz in cooperation with EURES, a European network providing information and consulting services.

On the occasion of the Czech Presidency, the job fair is organised under the auspices of European Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities Vladimír Špidla and Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Petr Nečas.

The JOBDAYS 2009 is a continuation of last year’s JOBDAYS, which achieved a great success with employers as well as job seekers. The JOBDAYS 2008 was attended by more than eighty Czech and foreign exhibitors and 10 000 job seekers.

“This is a significant event, which demonstrated great interest of Czech job seekers and employers in this type of events in the last year. The job fair included presentations of companies from various business sectors who offered jobs for graduates, administrative staff, workers in the production sector, trade and also specialists. “The employers were very happy about the organisation of the event and particularly with the structure of visitors of the job fair. We believe that this year the fair will be attended by even more job seekers,” said EURES manager Věra Kolmerová.

“The advantage of the JOBDAYS 2009 is the interlinking of the commercial and public sphere. The visitors can obtain concrete job offers from the employers, who hold exhibitions at the job fair. They will receive information from Czech and European subjects concerning the labour market and employment as well as advice how to succeed in the application process and find a position on the current labour market in the Czech Republic or anywhere in Europe. The visitors have an opportunity to address the employers directly and to discuss concrete job offers with them and take part in the companies’ workshops in the separate conference room,” added EURES advisor Jana Kačenová.

When going to the JOBDAYS 2009 fair, don’t forget to bring your CV – the fair has been conceived as a giant job interview where applicants can meet employers in person.

Over 100 employers have already registered for JOBDAYS 2009. The jobs fair will also be attended by representatives of labour offices and other national as well as European institutions. Jobs will also be offered by EURES network advisers from Italy, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, Great Britain, Slovakia, Poland, Slovenia, Hungary and Bulgaria.

  • You will find an up-to date list of exhibitors and detailed information on the fair of job opportunities, an accompanying programme and workshops on the official JOBDAYS 2009 website www.jobdays.cz.
