Litoměřice to host EUROFESTIVAL during the EU Transport Ministers’ meeting
The fourth edition of the open-air Eurofestivals organised as part of the Czech EU Presidency will be held on 29 April 2009 on the Mírové náměstí square in Litoměřice, Czech Republic.
An open-air festival will accompany the two-day informal meeting of the EU Transport Ministers. It will be organised jointly by the Representation of the European Commission in the Czech Republic and the Office of the Czech Government to complement the informal meeting of the 27 EU Transport Ministers to be held in Litoměřice, Czech Republic, on 28 - 30 April 2009.
The all-day programme of the Eurofestival in Litoměřice is designed for visitors of all ages. The Eurofestival will offer a varied music programme, including shows for children, as well as a discussion with Czech Transport Minister Petr Bendl and Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Alexandr Vondra. Moreover, the visitors of the Eurofestival may visit the Eurocentre marquee to attend a presentation of the Czech EU Presidency. Opening in the morning, the info-marquee of the Representation of the European Commission in the Czech Republic will host discussions with schools on issues related to the European Union. Music entertainment will be provided by the Bengas, a Roma band, the František Honzák Orchestra, pop singer Josef Vágner, the Buty band, and Czech beatbox group the Beatburger Band. MIG 21, a Czech pop music sensation, will be the evening headliner.
The on-site info-marquees will hold presentations of selected EU Member States, fun competitions and quizzes on Europe, and a presentation of the Ústí nad Labem Region and the Town of Litoměřice.
The programme for children will include painting and creative games, balloon show, magic show, trampoline and other interesting attractions.
