Déclaration de la présidence de l’UE au sujet de l’assassinat du ressortissant polonais enlevé au Pakistan

The Presidency of the European Union strongly condemns the murder of a Polish citizen, Mr Piotr Stańczak, abducted by Taliban militants in Pakistan in September 2008 and, executed last Saturday, 7 February 2009. The Presidency expresses its deepest sympathy and offers its condolences to the family and friends of Mr Piotr Stańczak.
The murder of Mr Piotr Stańczak highlights the importance of building international cooperation against terrorism and criminality. The Presidency reiterates the EU´s commitment to working with the Government of Pakistan in this regard and to continuing to offer its support.
