Seventeenth Session of the UN Commission on Sustainable Development – New York, United Nations, 4 – 15 May 2009
L'ARTICLE N'EST DISPONIBLE QU'EN ANGLAIS : Seventeenth Session of the UN Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD-17), which will take place in the UN Headquarters on 4 – 15 May 2009, is a significant event in the international sustainable development agenda.
Its purpose is to adopt policy decisions to expedite the implementation of sustainable development goals in agriculture, rural development, land, drought, desertification, Africa and cross-cutting issues (e.g. sustainable consumption and production, etc.).
The major task of the delegation of the Czech Republic as the Presidency of the Council of the European Union will be to coordinate a common position of the EU and to lead on behalf of the EU the negotiations on policy decisions of CSD-17. The head of the delegation will be the First Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Mr Ivo Hlaváč, and the delegation will be composed of experts from the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Environment, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
