EU Statement on the “Rolling text” issued by the Chair of the Intersessional Working Group (ISWG)

The European Union wishes to thank the Chairperson, Yuri Boychenko, for his tireless efforts in fulfilling the mandate given to him by the ISWG, i. e. to present a new, streamlined text to the Group.
The European Union welcomes the revised draft. We believe it constitutes a basis for further work in the ISWG. We are now studying the text closely and look forward to sharing our detailed position on it with other delegations with a view to further improving the text.
The European Union continues to hope for a consensual outcome document from the Durban Review Conference (20-24 April 2009).
