- Date: 1.10.2008 — 30.11.2009
- Venue: Germany

A travelling exhibition commemorating the 70th anniversary of Karel Čapek's death will look at the writer's personality from different angles - the traditional as well as the less official - and introduce him in a simple, attractive form. Along with Čapek's drama and prose, known and translated all over the world (R.U.R., White Disease, War with the Newts), the exhibition will present his journalism, hobbies, life views, friendships and love relationships. The exhibition will include the screening of a short documentary by Josef Císařovský. The event has been prepared by the Karel Čapek Memorial, the graphical design has been created by Pavel Bosák and the translation, by Jürgen Ostmeyer. The content is available in several languages and the exhibition will be presented both in the Czech Republic and abroad.
