European Union - Ukraine ministerial Troika

The ministerial troika between the EU and Ukraine will take place on 5 February 2009 in Prague. This meeting will address the following issues: the EU – Ukraine relationship, assessment of the situation in Ukraine and other current issues.

The meeting will be attended by President of the EU General Affairs and External Relations Council Karel Schwarzenberg, European Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighbourhood Policy Benita Ferrero-Waldner and Director of the Policy Unit of the General Secretariat of the EU Council Helga Schmid. The Ukrainian delegation will be led by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Volodymyr Ohryzko. Carl Bildt, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden – the next Presidency – has also agreed to attend.

This meeting will address the following issues: the EU – Ukraine relationship, assessment of the situation in Ukraine and other current regional and international issues – the Eastern Partnership, energy, Russia, Georgia, and Belarus.
