Czech Presidency Represents EU at Sharm El-Sheikh Summit

Czech Prime Minister and President of the European Council Mirek Topolánek and Czech Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzenberg are today taking part in the Middle-East summit at Sharm El-Sheikh in Egypt.

In the evening, the Czech Presidency delegation and leaders from several other EU Member States will meet Israeli representatives in Jerusalem.
                              
The aim of the meeting is to prepare further steps to be taken now that Israel has declared a ceasefire.
 
The delegation of the Czech Presidency left for the Middle East via Berlin this morning, together with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
