The Transport, Telecommunications and Energy Council will meet for the first time at 10:00 on Monday 30 March 2009 in Brussels. The meeting will be chaired by Czech Transport Minister Petr Bendl.

One of the main points on the agenda is the ministers' political debate regarding the draft amendment to the Directive on the charging of heavy goods vehicles (Eurovignette).

The adoption of the Council's general approach to the amendment of the Directive on the working time of drivers will also be negotiated.

Given the importance placed by the Czech Presidency to intelligent transport systems, the agenda will also include discussions on the adoption of the Council's conclusions regarding the Action Plan for the Deployment of Intelligent Transport Systems in road transport.

The Czech Presidency will conclude the meeting by presenting the success achieved in negotiating two draft pieces of legislation with the European Parliament – the amendment to the Single European Skies Regulation and the amendment to the Regulation on the European Aviation Safety Agency.

The Czech Presidency has also completed negotiations regarding the "Road Package" legislation.
