The Justice and Home Affairs Council will meet on 6 April 2009 in Luxembourg. Minister of Justice Jiří Pospíšil and Minister of the Interior Ivan Langer will chair the Meeting.

The Justice Ministers will deal with the following topics:

Prevention and settlement of conflicts of jurisdiction in criminal proceedings
Combating the sexual exploitation of children and child pornography
Combating trafficking in human beings
Standing of vulnerable victims in criminal proceeding
E-Justice - overview of EU Funds Available
Fight against financial crisis: What can be done in the area of justice?
EU-US Extradition and Mutual Legal Assistance Agreements.

The Press conference with the participation of Minister Pospíšil and Vice President of the European Commission and Commissioner responsible for Justice, Freedom and Security Jacques Barrot will take place at 12:30.

Ministers of the Interior will discuss following items of the Home Affairs area among others:

Proposal for a Council Directive on a single application procedure for a single permit for third-country nationals to reside and work in the territory of a Member State and on a common set of rights for third-country workers legally residing in a Member State
Draft Council Decision appointing the Director of Europol
