Joint Meeting of Deputy Ministers of the Environment and Finance

The Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic would like to invite media representatives to a press conference following the informal meeting of deputies of the ministries of the environment and ministries of finance of the Member States of the European Union.
The press conference will take place on Tuesday 24 February from 15:00 in TOP HOTEL Praha, Blažimská 1781/4, Prague 4 – Chodov.
The informal meeting of representatives of ministries of the environment and ministries of finance of the Member States of the European Union is being held by the Czech EU Presidency. It is to take place on 24 February in TOP HOTEL Praha. The meeting will be led by Jan Dusík, First Deputy Minister of the Environment of the Czech Republic, and Tomáš Zídek, Deputy Minister of Finance of the Czech Republic, who will also present the findings from the meeting to the media at the press conference.
At the meeting in Prague, representatives of the ministries of the environment and ministries of finance will discuss climate protection commitments and maintenance of the EU's position as a world leader in this area despite the current global economic crisis.
The findings from the meeting will also serve as the basis for EU Council discussions on the environment that will take place on 2 March in Brussels as well as for the meeting of the Council of economic and financial affairs ministers (ECOFIN) on 10 March in Brussels.
