The meeting will be attended by President of the EU General Affairs and External Relations Council Karel Schwarzenberg, Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighbourhood Policy, Benita Ferrero-Waldner and Policy Unit Director of the General Secretariat of the EU Council Helga Schmid. The Pakistani delegation will be led by Foreign Affairs Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi. Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt has also agreed to take part in the meeting as a representative of the next Presidency.
On the agenda of the meeting will be the EU – Pakistan relations, political and security issues, the theme of energy security and other current regional and international questions – the Middle East peace process, Afghanistan and India.
