The Conference on the Implementation of EU Law in the EU Member States is organised by the Office of the Government Department for Compatibility with EC Law under the auspices of the Minister and the Chair of the Legislative Council of the Government of the Czech Republic. The conference focuses on the implementation of EU law and technical support for the implementation of EU law by means of information systems. It is primarily intended for persons responsible, on national level, for the coordination of the implementation of EU law. By bringing together representatives from different Member States, the conference hopes to widen the discussion concerning the implementation of EU law in the legal systems of the Member States, exchange experience and good practices and help to create contacts with similar departments in other Member States and thus form the basis for subsequent cooperation.
The conference will be divided into several thematic parts. Following the introductory part - including the European Commission’s view of the implementation of EU law in the Member States – not only representatives of the Department for Compatibility with EC Law but also experts from individual Member States will present their own experiences with various aspects of implementation of EU law. The individual thematic parts will focus on the following topics:
- Organisational measures ensuring timely and precise implementation of EU law,
- Special methods of implementation of EU law based on constitutional provisions,
- Implementation of EU law before the proposals are adopted by the EU insitutions,
- Decisions of the European Court of Justice and their relations with the implementation of EU law,
- Information systems as a technical support tool for the implementation of EU law.
A Volume of Proceedings will be published after the conference summarising the individual presentations and the outcome of the discussion as well as providing those who are interested in this topic with a comprehensive view of EU law implementation in individual Member States.
