Meeting of Directors General - EU Territorial Agenda
- Date: 18.5.2009 — 18.5.2009
- Venue: Prague - Czech Republic
The aim of the meeting of the Directors General responsible for territorial cohesion is to address a number of priorities of the Czech Presidency. The first item on the agenda will be information about territorial cohesion from the informal meeting of Ministers for Regional Development which took place in Mariánské Lázně in April. The question of territorial cohesion has often been referred to in the context of the future cohesion policy of the EU after 2013 and integrated local development. The second item on the agenda will be relations between town and country. This issue will be coordinated at EU level by the Czech Republic. The results achieved so far by the working group consisting of representatives of the EU Member States and other institutions and partners will be presented. The main theme of the meeting will be monitoring, evaluation and opening the discussion of the future of the EU Territorial Agenda after 2011. By preparing the meeting agenda and by calling the meeting itself the Czech Republic fulfils the 18-month joint programme involving three consecutive Presidencies and paves the way for the ensuing Swedish Presidency.
