We would like to invite you for a press conference which is to be held within the international meeting of specialists of criminal law from the entire European Union. The experts are going to discuss the question of the protection of vulnerable victims, particularly children, in criminal proceedings, listening to victim’s testimony, and discuss the protections against secondary victimization. The goal of this conference is to find possible improvements at the European level, as well as the potential inspiration for a new Czech Code of Criminal Procedure.

The Press conference with the participation of Jiří Pospíšil, the Minister of Justice, Tomáš Gřivna, a member of the Criminal Law Department of the Faculty of Law of Charles University, and Peter-Jozsef Csonka, the Head of the Criminal Justice Unit of the Directorate of General Justice, Freedom and Security of the European Commission, will take place on Tuesday 17 March at 13:00. They will introduce, among other topics, the form of the protection of children and other vulnerable victims in criminal proceedings within the Czech Republic, the model of future recodification of criminal proceedings, and the experience of other EU Member states.
