Conference on Wilderness and Large Natural Habitat Areas with the participation of Václav Havel
The Ministry of the Environment and the European Commission invite media representatives to two press conferences that will take place at the beginning and at the end of the international Conference on Wilderness and Large Natural Habitat Areas.
The initial press conference will take place on Wednesday, 27 May, from 10:00 a.m. and the final press conference on 28 May from 5:45 p.m. in the Crowne Plaza hotel at Koulova 15, Prague 6.
Former President Václav Havel will take part in the opening of the international Conference on Wilderness and Large Natural Habitat Areas . The new Minister of the Environment of the Czech Republic, Ladislav Miko, and representatives of the European Commission, will participate in the initial press conference on 27 May.
By hosting the international Conference on Wilderness and Large Natural Habitat Areas, which will take place on 27 to 28 May 2009 in Prague, the Czech Presidency intends to make a contribution to conservation of biological diversity. This aspect also belongs amongst the main priorities of the Czech Presidency and the European Union in the area of the environment.
The conference aims at initiating discussions on conservation of wilderness and large natural habitats in Europe and at formulating measures for subsequent care.
