US President Barack Obama gave a speech and met EU leaders in Prague
US President Barack Obama gave his only open-air speech in the course of his European visit at the Hradčany Square in Prague.
In his speech he particularly appreciated the historical fight of the Czechs for freedom and democracy and called for global peace and nuclear disarmament. “I was almost surprised how much the US President highlighted the Czech experience in his speech,” stated Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek who, accompanied by Czech President Václav Klaus, met with Barack Obama earlier today.
After the speech Barack Obama continued to the Prague Congress Centre.
