Meeting of Directors General and Presidents of the Rectors' Conferences

As part of the Czech Presidency of the European Union, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports will be organising a regular joint Spring meeting of Directors General for Higher Education and Presidents of Rectors’ Conferences. The meeting will take place at the Prague Congress Centre on June 8 and June 9, 2009.
The event will address conclusions from the Leuven/Louvain-la-Neuve conference of higher education ministers and synergies with the Lisbon agenda as well as the latest developments, challenges and good practice in possibilities of financing higher education, directed on sustainable funding of higher education based on full costing models, diversity of approaches in connection to the work of Cluster for modernisation of higher education. The exchange of views, information and practical examples between directors general for higher education and representatives of the Rectors’ conferences could contribute to future policy development and practice in the area of sustainable funding of higher education as presently one of the most topical issues in European higher education. The topic will be supported by studies/findings of EUA, EU, CHEPS.
